Court Grants SIT Custody to Speed Up Probe
The investigation into the TTD adulterated ghee case took a major step forward on Monday. The Nellore ACB Special Court granted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) four-day custody of the two primary accused. This decision is expected to accelerate the ongoing probe, which has drawn strong public attention.
SIT to Question Former TTD Official and Supplier Representative
The SIT will take Subramaniam, the former TTD Procurement General Manager, and Ajay Sugandhi, the representative of Bholebaba Dairy, into custody today. Both had been held in Nellore Central Jail. However, officials will now shift them to Tirupati for detailed questioning.
Since both men played key roles in the ghee procurement process, investigators believe that their statements may reveal crucial details. Moreover, the SIT argued that custody was essential to identify gaps in the supply chain and to understand how adulterated ghee entered TTD’s system.
Officials Expect New Evidence During Custodial Interrogation
The ACB court heard the petition on December 3 and delivered its verdict on Monday. With custody approved, SIT officials plan to examine documents, communication logs, financial approvals, and supplier agreements. Additionally, they expect the interrogation to shed light on any internal lapses or possible collusion.
Through this four-day questioning, officials hope to trace every step of the procurement process. As a result, more individuals linked to the scandal may come under scrutiny.
Public Concern Grows as Investigation Enters Key Phase
The adulterated ghee scandal has already raised serious concerns among devotees. Since the ghee is used in preparing sacred prasadam at Tirumala, public trust has been shaken. Therefore, the SIT aims to conduct a transparent and comprehensive investigation.
With custody now in place, the probe enters a critical phase. The next few days are likely to determine how deep the scam runs and who else may be responsible.
