Massive Devotee Influx at Tirumala

The Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan at Tirumala continues to draw massive crowds. Devotees are thronging the hill shrine to seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara on the auspicious occasion of Vaikuntha Ekadashi. As a result, Tirumala echoed with chants of “Govinda Govinda” throughout the festival period.

According to TTD officials, nearly 33,000 vehicles reached Tirumala between December 30 and January 1. During these three days, around 1.77 lakh devotees had darshan of Srivari. Meanwhile, the heavy rush kept temple authorities on high alert to manage crowd movement efficiently.

Record Hundi Income Reported

Along with the surge in devotees, Tirumala also witnessed a sharp rise in Hundi collections. Officials revealed that the Hundi received ₹2.25 crore on December 30. On December 31 alone, the income touched ₹4.79 crore, marking a record collection during the Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan period.

Innovative Water Service for Devotees

To address the challenges faced by devotees waiting long hours in queues, TTD introduced a new mobile water service. Srivari Sevakulu carried water cans on their backs and distributed drinking water directly to devotees standing in queues and exiting the Vaikuntha Dwara.

This initiative provided immediate relief to tired devotees, especially under the sun. Many pilgrims appreciated TTD for this thoughtful step, calling it both humane and timely.

Darshan Access and Major Donation

At present, TTD is allowing devotees without tokens to enter the temple. Authorities are regulating queues through Octopus Bhavan and Narayanagiri Gardens, directing pilgrims via Vaikuntha Queue Complex-2.

Meanwhile, a Chennai-based devotee, Ponnaya Nageswaran, donated ₹50 lakh to the Sri Venkateswara Pranadana Trust. He handed over the demand draft to TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, further adding to the festive spirit.
