India’s unbeaten run in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 came to a disappointing end as the young Indian team suffered a 191-run defeat against Pakistan in the final. Despite reaching the summit clash without a single loss, India faltered in all departments during the crucial encounter.
Chasing a daunting target of 348 runs, Team India collapsed for just 156 runs in 26.2 overs, handing Pakistan a comprehensive victory.
India’s Batting Collapse
India’s chase never gained momentum, as wickets fell at regular intervals. At one stage, the team lost nine wickets for just 120 runs, putting the match beyond reach. Surprisingly, number ten batter Deepesh Devendran emerged as the top scorer with a fighting 36 runs, helping India cross the 150-run mark.
Among other contributors, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 26, while Khilan Patel added 19. Aaron George made 16, and Abhignan Kundu chipped in with 13 runs. However, none of the batters could build a significant partnership.
Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance. Ali Raza led the attack with four wickets, while Mohammad Sayam, Abdul Subhan, and Huzaifa Ahsan picked up two wickets each, dismantling India’s batting lineup.
Sameer Minhas Powers Pakistan to Massive Total
Earlier, Pakistan put up a commanding total after losing the toss and batting first. The team scored 347 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
Opener Sameer Minhas starred with a magnificent 172 runs off 113 balls, smashing 17 fours and 9 sixes. His innings laid the foundation for Pakistan’s massive score. Ahmed Hussain contributed a valuable 56, while Usman Khan scored 35. Farhan Yousuf (19) and Hamza Zahoor (18) also added useful runs.
For India, Deepesh Devendran claimed three wickets, while Henil Patel and Khilan Patel picked up two wickets each. Kanshik Chauhan took one wicket.
Pakistan Clinch U-19 Asia Cup Title
With a dominant performance in both batting and bowling, Pakistan outplayed India to lift the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 title. Meanwhile, India will look to reflect on the defeat and build on the positives from an otherwise impressive tournament.
