India posted 238 runs in 48.4 overs against Bangladesh in the Under-19 World Cup match at Bulawayo. After losing the toss, the team batted first. However, the innings began on a shaky note as Ayush Mhatre (6) and Vedant Trivedi (0) fell early, leaving India at 12 for 2.
At that stage, Vaibhav Suryavanshi played attacking cricket and shifted the momentum. He struck boundaries with ease and kept the scoreboard ticking. Meanwhile, Vihaan Malhotra (7) departed, and India slipped to 53 for 3, creating fresh pressure.
Despite the setback, Vaibhav continued his fluent knock. He reached his half-century in just 30 balls before slowing down slightly. From the other end, Abhignan Kundu anchored the innings with a calm approach. The duo added a crucial stand for the fourth wicket and steadied the innings.
Soon after, Bangladesh struck back as Vaibhav (72) and Harivansh (2) fell in quick succession. As a result, India slipped to 119 for 5. However, Abhignan found good support from Kanishk Chauhan (28). Together, they added 54 runs in 45 balls, which pushed India toward a competitive total.
Rain interrupted play after 39 overs. Once the match resumed, India failed to maintain momentum. The lower order struggled, and wickets fell regularly. Eventually, the team managed only 46 more runs before getting bowled out in 48.4 overs.
For Bangladesh, Fahad starred with five wickets, while Iqbal and Hakim Tamim claimed two each. Now, Bangladesh face a target of 239, while India will aim for early breakthroughs to put pressure on the chase.
