Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha drew public attention during her visit to Upamaka while reviewing arrangements for the annual Kalyanotsavam of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Upamaka.
Review of Kalyanotsavam Preparations
The minister visited the temple to inspect preparations for the upcoming annual celestial wedding ceremony of Lord Venkateswara. She held a review meeting with temple and district officials and directed them to ensure smooth arrangements for devotees expected to attend the festival in large numbers.
Officials briefed her on crowd management, security measures, sanitation, drinking water supply, and other facilities being set up for the event.
Minister Fries Bajjis at the Local Shop
After completing the review, local Telugu Desam Party leaders offered her traditional snacks, including garelu and bajjis, being sold near the temple premises. The minister tasted the snacks and then walked to the shop herself.
In a light-hearted moment, she surprised onlookers by frying bajjis at the stall for a few minutes. Visitors and party workers captured the scene on their mobile phones as the minister interacted cheerfully with the public.
Interaction with Local Traders
During her visit, Vangalapudi Anitha also stopped at a nearby pan shop. She spoke with local traders and enquired about their business conditions and challenges. She assured them that the government remains committed to supporting small vendors and improving the local business environment.
Her informal interaction and hands-on gesture created a buzz among devotees and residents. The visit combined official review duties with direct public engagement, adding a human touch to the temple inspection program.
