Ambedkar Konaseema district is seeing rapid progress on the new bridge over the Vashishta River near Ganti Pedapudi in P. Gannavaram mandal. This bridge will connect Udimudi Lanka, Ganti Pedapudi Lanka, Boorugulanka, and Arigelavaripeta villages, providing a safe route for residents.
During floods, villagers currently rely on boats to travel, which often proves dangerous and time-consuming. For years, changing governments left the bridge construction incomplete, frustrating the local communities.
Initially, the YSRCP administration started construction but delayed fund releases, slowing progress. However, once the coalition government assumed office, MLA Giddi Satyanarayana ensured funds were promptly released, allowing work to speed up.
Now, construction is moving quickly. Villagers expressed excitement and relief, noting that the bridge will soon provide a safe and reliable connection across the river. The project is expected to transform daily life, reduce travel risks, and improve accessibility for all four island villages.
