The release of Tamil star Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Jana Nayagan’ has been officially postponed. The film’s production house, KVN Productions, announced the decision through a social media post.
The makers had planned to release the film on January 9, coinciding with the Sankranti festival. However, issues related to censor certification forced the team to delay the launch.
Censor Board Certification Still Pending
The Central Board of Film Certification has not yet issued a certificate for ‘Jana Nayagan’. As a result, the production company approached the High Court seeking clearance for the film’s release.
The producers stated that the court is likely to issue its final order on January 9. Due to this uncertainty, the team decided not to proceed with the scheduled release.
Makers Choose to Wait for Court Verdict
KVN Productions explained that the delay aims to avoid confusion among audiences and exhibitors. The team chose to wait for legal clarity before confirming a new release date.
The producers also assured fans that they will announce the revised release schedule soon after the court delivers its decision.
Directed by H. Vinod, Film Holds Special Importance
Director H. Vinod helmed ‘Jana Nayagan’, which carries significant expectations. The film marks Vijay’s final project before his full-time entry into politics, making it a highly anticipated release.
The film will also release in Telugu under the title ‘Jana Nayaku’, allowing it to reach a wider audience across South India.
New Release Date to Be Announced Soon
Despite the postponement, industry observers believe the film will maintain strong buzz. Vijay’s massive fan following continues to drive anticipation for the movie.
The production house reiterated that the delay is temporary and promised to share updates at the earliest.
