Vijayawada: The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanam at Indrakeeladri is gearing up for a grand celebration of Vasant Panchami, according to temple trust board chairman Borra Radhakrishna. He said the sacred festival, dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, will be observed with special rituals and spiritual programs.
Special Decorations and Rituals Planned
Speaking to reporters, the chairman explained that Goddess Durga will appear in the Saraswati Devi alankaram on this auspicious day. Dressed in white attire, the deity will hold a veena, sacred texts, and an alphabet garland, symbolising knowledge and learning. Devotees will be able to witness this special darshan throughout the day.
Arrangements for Aksharabhyasam
Meanwhile, the temple administration has made special arrangements for Aksharabhyasam, the traditional initiation of children into learning. The devasthanam will provide essential items such as slates, chalk, and other pooja materials. Parents can bring their children without worrying about arrangements.

Facilities for Devotees
In addition, officials expect a heavy rush of devotees on Vasant Panchami. To manage the crowd smoothly, the temple has set up organised queue lines. The management will also supply free prasadam and ensure uninterrupted drinking water facilities across the premises.
Devotees Invited to Participate
Chairman Borra Radhakrishna appealed to devotees to make use of the facilities and participate in the celebrations peacefully. He added that the temple staff and volunteers will remain on duty to ensure a smooth and divine experience for all visitors.
