Hyderabad: Actor-director Vishwak Sen, popularly known as “Mass Ka Das,” is all set to thrill audiences with his latest project, “Cult”, which is being promoted as India’s first slasher thriller. The movie’s teaser is scheduled to release on February 21, 2026, at Prasads Multiplex (PCX Screen) in Hyderabad at 3:00 PM.
A Bold New Thriller Inspired by Real Events
Vishwak Sen, who has previously directed hits like Falaknuma Das and Das Ka Dhamki, has written the story himself. According to sources, the narrative is inspired by real events that occurred in Vietnam. Unlike traditional thrillers, Cult is designed as a “party thriller” targeting today’s youth, blending suspense, horror, and high-octane drama.
Star Cast and New Faces
The film stars Gayathri Bhardwaj and Yagna Turlapati as the lead actresses, while Tarak Ponnappa plays the antagonist. Interestingly, the movie is expected to introduce around 40 new actors, giving fresh talent a platform in this high-stakes thriller. Vishwak Sen himself will play the central character, ensuring a strong screen presence.
Music, Production, and Global Plans
The music for Cult is composed by Ravi Basrur, known for delivering powerful background scores. The project is produced by Tarak Cinemas in collaboration with Vanmaye Creations. Sources reveal that the makers plan to release the film in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, English, Japanese, and Spanish, to reach a global audience.
What Fans Can Expect
Cult promises a bolder and more intense narrative compared to Vishwak Sen’s previous works. With a mix of suspense, action, and chilling horror sequences, the film aims to redefine the slasher genre in Indian cinema. Fans and movie enthusiasts eagerly await the teaser release to get their first glimpse of the high-energy, gripping thriller.
