A severe cold wave continues to grip the Telugu states, sending temperatures to unusually low levels and leaving people shivering despite sweaters, blankets, and quilts. For nearly two weeks, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have experienced intense cold conditions, with minimum temperatures in several places dropping to single digits. According to the Meteorological Department, the chill is likely to persist over the next three to four days, prompting officials to urge people to stay cautious.
Telangana Weather Update
As per the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre, lower-level winds are currently blowing from the east and northeast directions. Due to this, dry weather is expected across Telangana today, tomorrow, and the day after. Moreover, in the next two days, minimum temperatures in some parts of the state may fall 3°C to 4°C below normal. The cold mornings have already affected daily routines, with people delaying outdoor activities until late morning.
Andhra Pradesh Weather Forecast
The Amaravati Meteorological Centre reported that northeastern winds are prevailing in the lower tropospheric levels over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. As a result, dry weather is likely to continue for the next three days across the state.
North Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam: Dry weather is expected on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
South Coastal Andhra Pradesh: Dry conditions will prevail over the same period.
Rayalaseema: No rainfall is forecast, and dry weather will continue through the next three days.
Temperature Warning
Weather officials noted that over the next two days, minimum temperatures in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema may drop 2°C to 4°C below normal at isolated locations. However, after this period, no major change in temperatures is expected.
Advisory
Authorities advise people, especially children, the elderly, and those with health conditions, to take precautions against the cold. Wearing warm clothing and avoiding early morning exposure is strongly recommended.
With winter tightening its grip, residents across the Telugu states should stay alert and follow weather updates closely.
