A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three youths in West Godavari district late on Tuesday night. The incident occurred near Polamuru village in Penumantra mandal when a motorcycle hit a road divider at high speed.
Police said overspeeding caused the accident. The bike lost control and crashed into the divider, killing all three riders on the spot.
Local residents rushed to the scene after receiving information. They tried to shift the injured youths to a government hospital. However, doctors declared them dead on arrival.
Police identified the victims as Satyanarayana (28), Anjibabu (25), and Raju (19). All three belonged to the same village. The tragedy created deep sorrow among villagers.
According to preliminary findings, the accident occurred around 12:30 am. The youths were returning home after attending Christmas celebrations.
Police shifted the bodies to Tanuku Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. Penumantra police registered a case and began an investigation.
Police urged motorists to avoid overspeeding. They also advised riders to remain cautious, especially during late-night travel.
