Telugu comedian Khushi Bablu, who earned a good name in films and television, has finally revealed why he stayed away from movies for years and what he is doing now.
Bablu began his career as a child artist and later acted in several television serials. Subsequently, he entered films and impressed audiences with his performances. He gained recognition with the film Chitra and later appeared in successful movies such as Arya, Khushi, Maunamelanoi, and E.V.V. Gari Evadi Gola Vadidi. However, after a brief but impactful career, Bablu suddenly disappeared from the big screen.
As time passed, many fans began searching online to know what happened to Khushi Bablu. Several speculations surfaced, with some believing that he stopped getting film offers. However, Bablu recently broke his silence in interviews and shared the real reason behind his absence.
Bablu revealed that he went into severe depression after his father’s death. During that difficult phase, he could not focus on his career or accept opportunities. Therefore, in 2008, he decided to travel to Bangkok to bring a change in his life. Initially, he planned to stay for just two months. However, things changed when he took up DJing and stayed there for nearly 18 months under a contract.
He also shared that director Puri Jagannadh encouraged him to pursue DJing after the Chirutha audio function. Interestingly, Bablu already had experience as a DJ in Hyderabad. While in Bangkok, Telugu film celebrities were often surprised to see him working as a DJ.
Later, due to his mother’s health issues, Bablu returned to India. Although he signed a TV serial, the project was cancelled due to production issues, causing another break in his career.
Currently, Khushi Bablu works as HOD at Bablu Vinod Film Academy, where he trains and guides aspiring actors. Moreover, he has started his own project and promised to reveal details soon. Bablu concluded by saying that he prefers one meaningful role over multiple small roles, expressing satisfaction with quality work over quantity.
