Gangavaram fishermen may soon see their long-pending demand fulfilled, stated Palla Srinivas Rao. The legislator highlighted the construction of the Yarada jetty, which he had raised in the state assembly.
History of the Yarada Jetty Project
The TDP government worked on the Yarada jetty construction between 2014 and 2019. However, when the government changed in 2019, the project faced delays, and the issue returned to square one.
Current Progress Under Coalition Government
Currently, the coalition administration is working on preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the jetty. MLA Palla Srinivas Rao emphasised that the central government’s support will help fishermen significantly.
Support for Fishermen
The MLA assured that the government stands firmly with the fishing community. Once completed, the Yarada jetty is expected to provide safer docking, improved fishery facilities, and better livelihoods for local fishermen.
