Food safety authorities across Andhra Pradesh are intensifying raids to stop milk adulteration. In Kakinada, officials inspected multiple milk sales centres and collected samples for testing. They warned that businesses failing to follow safety regulations will face strict penalties.
Statewide Raids Continue
Officials, including food safety commissioners and district collectors, are conducting the inspections. Moreover, they stated that these raids will continue regularly. Dairy vendors must maintain hygiene standards; otherwise, authorities will take immediate action. The campaign aims to protect public health and remove contaminated milk from the market.
Adulteration Considered a Serious Crime
Authorities stressed that milk adulteration is a serious offence, not a minor violation. In fact, according to Supreme Court directives, adding harmful substances to milk could result in severe punishments. They explained that intentional adulteration causing harm can be treated as a grave crime. Additionally, authorities pointed out that tampering with milk may be considered more serious than ordinary offences because it endangers many lives.
Raising Public Awareness
The authorities are also educating the public. They urge consumers to report suspicious milk or dairy products immediately. Furthermore, they emphasise that following safety rules is essential to prevent health risks. These efforts are part of a larger initiative to ensure food safety throughout Andhra Pradesh.
Authorities’ Strong Message
Food safety officials repeatedly stressed that compliance is non-negotiable. They confirmed that inspections will continue in all districts to protect public health. Moreover, they warned dairy businesses that failure to follow hygiene standards could lead to fines, imprisonment, or other legal consequences.
