Amid heavy rains and a State-wide alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (APNA) has announced that it is fully prepared to support the government in handling any medical emergencies arising from floods or Montha cyclone-related disasters.
APNA State President Dr AV Subba Reddy said that despite the ongoing suspension of services by doctors working under the NTR Vaidya Seva network due to pending government payments, the association has decided to prioritise public health and extend its services during this critical time.
Dr Subba Reddy said that APNA doctors are ready to provide medical assistance in any affected district and will respond immediately if contacted by government authorities. He stated that District Collectors, District Medical & Health Officers (DM&HOs), or other officials can coordinate with APNA through district presidents, district secretaries, or the state executive committee to mobilise medical teams. Authorities will deploy doctors from various specialities to cyclone montha affected areas as needed to bolster ongoing relief efforts.

He emphasised that while APNA stands firmly behind the rightful demands of doctors associated with the NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, it does not want the public to suffer during emergencies. “Even though we are supporting the agitation for long-pending dues, APNA has taken this humanitarian decision to ensure people do not face hardship during the disaster. We alerted our district teams to stay ready and extend their services to the government whenever required,” he added.
He urged authorities to tap into APNA’s support system for public safety, stating that APNA doctors stand ready to collaborate with government medical teams or operate independently as specialised medical units wherever required. “Our commitment is not only for today but continues into the future. APNA will always stand by the government and the people during health emergencies,” he assured.
He added that APNA has formally conveyed its decision to district medical officials statewide via both media outreach and direct communication. The association also confirmed that APNA and ASHA representatives remain on standby and are available around the clock to coordinate medical services in any district.
