On the night of January 30, Vijaya Reddy took her daughter Tanya, an Inter second-year student, and her son Vishal, an Inter first-year student, to the Hyderabad-Ghatkesar railway tracks. They tragically jumped under a train. Authorities discovered their bodies on the morning of January 31 on the MMTS down line.
Vijaya’s husband, Surender Reddy, lives in Dubai. Police found that the children followed their mother because they habitually obeyed her instructions. Investigators found no evidence of foul play.
Police questioned 16 colleagues from Vijaya’s office and several relatives. However, these inquiries did not reveal any suspicious leads. Authorities also addressed rumours claiming she used a second mobile phone. They confirmed these rumours were false and are currently reviewing her call records from the week before the incident.
The police concluded that depression caused this tragedy. They urge people to take mental health seriously and seek help if they face prolonged stress or emotional challenges.
