Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has reportedly died amid massive airstrikes during the escalating war between Iran and the joint forces of Israel and the United States. While US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed Khamenei was killed in targeted strikes, Iran’s Foreign Ministry denied the reports and insisted that he is alive. The conflicting statements have pushed West Asia to the brink, with hundreds reported dead and thousands affected.
Trump Claims Khamenei Was Killed
Donald Trump announced on social media that Ali Khamenei had been eliminated in US-Israel strikes. He described Khamenei as a “dangerous figure” and claimed American intelligence tracked his location. Trump said Iran could not escape US surveillance. His statement quickly went viral and intensified global tension.
However, Iran rejected the claim. Officials stated that their Supreme Leader remains safe. They accused Washington and Tel Aviv of spreading misinformation to create panic.
Israel Confirms Targeted Strikes
Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Israeli forces carried out major missile strikes on key Iranian locations, including areas near Khamenei’s office in Tehran. Israel named its military action “Operation Roaring Lion.” The Pentagon called the joint US operation “Operation Epic Fury.”
According to Israeli sources, senior Iranian commanders were among those killed. Reports also claimed Iran’s army chief was targeted, though Tehran has not confirmed these deaths.
Heavy Civilian Casualties
The strikes reportedly hit nearly 30 locations in Tehran. Explosions were heard across the capital. Thick smoke covered parts of the city. Iranian media reported over 200 deaths, though some sources suggested higher numbers.
In southern Iran, a tragic attack on a girls’ school reportedly killed 85 students and injured dozens more. These reports remain disputed, but images circulating online show severe destruction.
Iran Retaliates Across the Region
In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and US bases across West Asia. Iranian forces claimed to have struck multiple American facilities in Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the UAE.
Unconfirmed reports suggested explosions near Dubai’s skyline, including areas close to the Burj Khalifa. Authorities evacuated parts of the city as a precaution. Bahrain also reported missile activity near US naval facilities.
Iran warned that stronger weapons could be used if attacks continue. Military leaders declared they would end the conflict “in an unexpected way.”
Global Concerns Rise
The conflict has disrupted air travel and shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz. Several airports temporarily suspended operations. Governments worldwide issued advisories to their citizens in the region.
Donald Trump defended the strikes, accusing Iran of supporting global terrorism and pursuing nuclear weapons. Netanyahu echoed those claims, stating that Iran posed an “existential threat” to Israel.
Meanwhile, uncertainty over Khamenei’s status continues. Iran insists he is alive, while US and Israeli leaders maintain their position. As the war intensifies, the region faces one of its most dangerous moments in decades.
