Praja Shanti Party President KA Paul has once again sparked controversy with a series of sensational remarks targeting political leaders and media organizations. Addressing the media, Paul claimed that the death of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in a 2009 helicopter crash occurred due to what he described as his “curse,” a statement that has drawn sharp reactions.
Recalling events from 2009, KA Paul said the then YSR government had frozen 14 bank accounts linked to his charity organizations in August of that year. He stated that he undertook fasting and prayers on September 1, 2009, and claimed that the helicopter crash that killed YSR the following day happened as a result of his curse. Paul alleged that some media outlets at the time even ran stories referring to it as “Paul’s curse.”
Warning to Media Organizations
KA Paul issued a stern warning to Telugu media owners, editors, and reporters, accusing them of spreading false stories against him. He demanded a public apology within 30 days, failing which he warned of severe consequences. According to Paul, those who do not apologize would face “divine punishment” in the form of illness, accidents, or financial losses within their families. He made it clear that he was unhappy with most Telugu channels, while naming one channel as an exception.
Remarks on Political Leadership
The Praja Shanti Party chief also targeted Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu, and not Revanth Reddy, was effectively controlling governance in Telangana. Paul urged both leaders to “live in the fear of God,” warning that accidents and destruction were inevitable if they failed to do so.
Other Sensational Claims
In his address, KA Paul made further dramatic assertions, claiming to have followers across the world and stating that prominent national leaders respected him. He also remarked that those who allegedly tried to harm him in the past had met tragic ends, attributing this to what he described as divine power.
KA Paul’s statements have triggered widespread debate and criticism, with many political observers and social media users questioning the appropriateness and seriousness of such claims. No official response has yet been issued by the political leaders or media organizations named by him.
