A mega blood donation camp took place in Alluri Sitarama Raju district as part of the National Road Safety Festival celebrations. The programme was held at the Paderu RTC Depot and received active participation from RTC staff and volunteers. Through this initiative, organisers aimed to promote social responsibility and meet the growing demand for blood in hospitals.
The camp was organised under the leadership of Paderu RTC Depot Manager D. M. Srinivas with the support of the Indian Red Cross Society. From the morning hours, RTC employees gathered at the depot to take part. Importantly, Srinivas personally donated blood, thereby inspiring others to follow his example.
Call for Voluntary Blood Donation
While addressing the participants, Srinivas urged people to come forward and donate blood voluntarily. He explained that blood donation helps save the lives of accident victims and critically ill patients. Moreover, he highlighted that one unit of blood can help more than one patient in need.
He further stated that the RTC organised the camp as per directions from higher authorities. At the same time, he said such programmes strengthen public awareness and social commitment. Additionally, he thanked the Indian Red Cross Society for its cooperation and timely medical support.
RTC Staff and Red Cross Play Key Role
Meanwhile, RTC staff actively participated and expressed satisfaction in contributing to a life-saving cause. Medical teams from the Red Cross conducted health checks and ensured safe blood collection. As a result, the process remained smooth and well-organised throughout the camp.
Officials clarified that the collected blood would help patients in government hospitals across the district. Furthermore, they stressed the need for regular blood donation, especially in remote and tribal areas where medical support remains limited.
In conclusion, Depot Manager Srinivas appealed to the public to stay informed and donate blood without hesitation. He encouraged citizens to see blood donation as a social duty. Ultimately, he said that donating blood means giving someone a second chance at life.
Special Correspondent Suryarao confirmed that the camp received a positive response and successfully achieved its objectives.
