Haseen Mastan Appeals to PM Modi for Justice
Haseen Mastan Mirza, daughter of late underworld don Haji Mastan, has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for help. She said the Prime Minister’s intervention is crucial to ensure justice in her long-running case.
While addressing the media, Haseen accused her former husband and his family of subjecting her to years of abuse. However, she said financial hardship has weakened her legal battle since 2013.
Forced Marriage and Years of Trauma
At the age of 12, Haseen was allegedly forced into marriage. Two years later, she underwent an abortion, which, she said, left deep emotional scars. Over time, she claimed she suffered repeated sexual abuse.
After her father’s death, her troubles intensified. According to Haseen, her former husband’s family began targeting her to gain control of Haji Mastan’s properties.
Property Dispute at the Centre
According to Haseen, her former husband’s family expected to inherit all of her father’s assets. In fact, she alleged that her former husband even admitted to abusing her for property-related reasons.
When their efforts failed, they divorced her, she claimed. As a result, she said, they left her without money or support.
Long Legal Struggle and Police Apathy
Since 2013, Haseen has continued her legal fight against her former husband and his family. However, due to a lack of funds, the case has progressed slowly.
Meanwhile, she also accused the police of failing to assist her. Instead of acting on her complaints, she said, authorities repeatedly ignored them.
Call for Intervention and Political Views
Therefore, Haseen urged Prime Minister Modi to intervene and prevent her case from being sidelined. Without strong support, she said, justice remains out of reach.
At the same time, she clarified that she has no intention of entering politics. Nevertheless, she praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s “bulldozer justice” and expressed hope that similar action would reach Mumbai.
