A shocking domestic dispute turned fatal in Mangalagiri of Guntur district after a woman allegedly stabbed her husband to death over a minor argument about television volume. The incident, which occurred in the TIDCO housing area, has sent shockwaves across Andhra Pradesh.
Husband objected to the loud TV Sound
The deceased has been identified as Shaik Ahmed, an AC mechanic from Pedavadlapudi in Mangalagiri mandal. About one and a half years ago, he developed a relationship with a woman named Kranthi from Mangalagiri. The relationship later led to marriage.
Reports suggest that Kranthi was previously married and that her first husband is currently in jail. After marrying Ahmed, the couple began living in B-16 block of the TIDCO housing complex in Mangalagiri.
On the day of the incident, Ahmed returned home while observing Ramzan fasting. At that time, his wife was reportedly watching television at high volume. He asked her to reduce the sound.
Argument Turns Violent
However, the request reportedly led to a heated argument between the couple. In a sudden fit of anger, Kranthi allegedly attacked Ahmed with a knife. The assault left him with severe injuries.
Family members and neighbours rushed him to the Government General Hospital in Vijayawada. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead while he was being shifted for treatment.
Police Register Case, Investigation Underway
Following the incident, Ahmed’s mother, Mahabi, lodged a complaint with the police. Based on her statement, Mangalagiri police registered a case and launched an investigation.
Mangalagiri Town Circle Inspector K. Veeraswamy confirmed that officers are examining all aspects of the case. Police are questioning the accused and collecting evidence from the scene.
The tragic incident highlights how minor domestic disputes can escalate into deadly violence. Authorities have assured that strict action will follow based on the outcome of the investigation.
