Amid a brief discussion on the adulterated Ghee issue in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu strongly defended his family-owned business, Heritage Foods. He rejected all allegations, claiming a deliberate attempt to tarnish the company’s reputation. Using a PowerPoint presentation, he clarified the facts to the Assembly members.
Chandrababu emphasised that Heritage Foods operates independently with integrity and without any government support. “Not a single kilogram of ghee has been purchased by any government department from Heritage. Yet, media reports have unfairly targeted us,” he said. He stressed that Heritage collects and distributes around 20 lakh litres of milk daily, maintaining honest business practices, and rejected attempts to link the Ghee controversy to Heritage Dairy.
Clarifying the Role of Indapur Dairy
The Chief Minister clarified that Indapur Dairy, which supplied ghee for Tirumala laddu production, has no connection with Heritage. He explained that Indapur Dairy is a prominent co-manufacturing and co-packing unit in Pune. It supplies products not just to Heritage but also to major companies like Mother Dairy, Britannia, Patanjali, D-Mart, Reliance, Dodla, and Amul. “It is unfortunate to falsely link Heritage Foods with this controversy,” Chandrababu remarked.
Criticism of the Previous Government
Chandrababu criticised the previous government for misusing authority. “Remember how Bharti Cements were used in government housing and other projects? This is a clear example of how wrongdoers target others to cover their mistakes,” he said. He also highlighted that the earlier administration blocked discussions on the Palakollu milk adulteration case. “Those who committed the mistakes should first apologise,” he added.
Protecting Religious Sentiments
The Chief Minister also addressed concerns about religious sensitivity. He urged everyone to respect the sanctity of temples and declared his full support for Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s remarks on protecting Hindu sentiments. “No one has the right to hurt anyone’s religious feelings,” Chandrababu stated firmly. He assured that the NTA coalition government will take strict action against any adulteration incidents and guaranteed that Heritage Foods will always maintain ethical standards.
Chandrababu’s statement in the Assembly reinforced his commitment to transparency, ethical business practices, and safeguarding both public trust and religious sentiments in Andhra Pradesh.
