The Telangana government has reshuffled key IAS officers to strengthen administration across the state. Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao issued orders assigning new responsibilities to 45 officers. These transfers cover top secretariat positions and district collectors, aiming to improve efficiency and governance.
Strategic Department Changes
IAS officer Sanjay Kumar moved from the Industries and Commerce Department as Special Chief Secretary to the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department. Similarly, IAS N. Sridhar now serves as Principal Secretary of the IT and Industries Department while continuing his duties in Mines and Geology.
Meanwhile, Rahul Bojja shifted from the Irrigation Department to become Principal Secretary of General Administration. The government also assigned him additional responsibility for the BC Welfare Department, highlighting a focus on multi-department leadership.
Key Appointments in State Utilities
Gaurav Uppal, previously Secretary of Finance and Planning at Telangana Bhavan in Delhi, now heads TGMSIDC as MD. Mushtaq Ali Farooqui transitioned from TGSPDCL CMD to lead the newly created Third DISCOM as CMD. Jitesh V. Patil takes over as CMD of TGSPDCL. These appointments aim to strengthen public utility management and operational efficiency.
Purpose Behind the Reshuffle
Officials explain that the reshuffle ensures experienced officers occupy critical roles. Consequently, the government expects smoother implementation of development projects and greater accountability. By realigning leadership strategically, Telangana seeks faster results and improved governance for citizens.
