A tragic incident unfolded in Rajasthan when a 9-year-old girl collapsed and died while playing at school. The child, identified as Divya, was a fifth-grade student at an international school in the Gotan area of Nagaur district.
On the morning of February 23, Divya reached school as usual and joined her friends on the playground before the morning assembly. However, within minutes, she suddenly collapsed on the school grounds. Teachers and staff rushed to her aid and immediately shifted her to a nearby hospital.
Doctors examined her upon arrival and declared her dead. Medical professionals found no visible injuries on her body. They suspect cardiac arrest as the cause of death.
This heartbreaking loss comes just months after the family faced a similar tragedy. Divya’s brother, Abhishek, died on September 9 last year after he collapsed while playing at home. Doctors had also cited cardiac arrest as the cause in his case.
The repeated loss has left the family and local community in deep shock. Relatives requested that authorities conduct Divya’s funeral without a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, the incident has raised concerns about sudden cardiac arrests among children. Health experts say such cases remain rare but stress the importance of timely medical attention and awareness of warning signs. Authorities have not reported any foul play, and officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
