Self-styled godman Mallikarjun Mutya has been booked under the POCSO Act in Yadgiri district of Karnataka after a viral video allegedly showed him behaving inappropriately with a minor girl. The case has triggered outrage across the region, and police have launched a search operation as the accused reportedly gone absconding.
According to officials, the Women and Child Welfare Department registered a case against Mallikarjun Mutya at Gogi Police Station in Shahapur taluk. He is associated with the Mahal Roza Math in Yadgiri district. Authorities invoked provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act following serious allegations involving a minor.

The controversy erupted after videos surfaced on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms. In the clips, the accused allegedly behaved inappropriately with a minor girl. The visuals reportedly show him holding the girl by her throat, pushing her onto a bed, touching her body, dancing with her, and pinching her nose.
As the videos spread rapidly online, public anger intensified. Soon after, child welfare officials stepped in and coordinated with local police to initiate legal action.

Mallikarjun Mutya is linked to Mahal Roza Math in Yadgiri district of Karnataka. He reportedly claims to be a divine figure and has attracted a significant number of followers over the years. Many devotees consider him a spiritual leader and frequently visit the math seeking blessings.
However, the latest allegations have cast a serious shadow over his activities. Authorities stated that no one is above the law, regardless of religious claims or influence.
