The Indian Air Force is showcasing its firepower today at the Pokhran Air-to-Ground Range in Rajasthan. The Vayushakti-2026 exercises feature 26 displays of missiles, fighter jets, and humanitarian operations. President Droupadi Murmu and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend the event.
The IAF released a video of the S-400 Sudarshan missile system for the first time. In rehearsal, the system destroyed targets with high precision. Last May, during Operation Sindur, the S-400 neutralised drones and missiles far from the border. It played a key role in protecting Indian cities and set a new military record.
Fighter jets like Tejas, Rafale, Sukhoi-30MKI, and Mirage-2000 will perform aerial manoeuvres. Transport aircraft and helicopters such as C-17s, Apaches, and Chinooks will show their capabilities. The exercises also simulate humanitarian missions, including evacuations and emergency relief.
Officials said the event highlights India’s combat readiness and ability to respond to disasters. Thousands are following the live updates from Jaisalmer, where the demonstrations are taking place. Vayushakti-2026 sends a clear message: India’s Air Force is ready to defend the nation and assist civilians in times of crisis.
