The 2018 Tamil psychological thriller “Ratsasan” surprised everyone with its massive success after facing repeated rejections. Nearly 17 top heroes and 21 producers rejected the script, fearing it was too risky and not profitable. However, Axis Film Factory head Delhi Babu decided to produce it, giving the story a chance. Directed by Ram Kumar, the film starred Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul. Made on a budget of ₹7 crores, it earned around ₹20 crores after release. The film became a blockbuster and earned a cult following in the psychological thriller genre.
Telugu Remake: “Rakshasudu”
The film was remade in Telugu as “Rakshasudu”, starring Bellamkonda Srinivas and Anupama Parameswaran. The remake also became a hit, proving the story’s wide appeal across languages.
