India is gearing up for one of the biggest re-releases in cinema history as SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali saga returns to theatres worldwide. Titled ‘Baahubali: The Epic’, this new combined cut merges both parts: Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion into a single 3-hour 44-minute cinematic experience with enhanced visuals, refined edits and never-before-seen footage.
The film will premiere internationally on October 29 across the US, UK and Australia, followed by a global theatrical release, including India, on October 31. The re-release commemorates the 10-year anniversary of the Baahubali franchise, a cultural phenomenon that redefined Indian cinema and established Prabhas and SS Rajamouli as international icons.
Advance bookings already breaking box office records
The buzz is unprecedented, and ticket sales reflect that. In Hyderabad alone, over 61,000 tickets were sold on Day 1 of advance bookings. Global pre-sales have already crossed ₹5 crore, while US advance bookings hit $242,829 across 122 locations by the end of Day 2.
Trade analysts are predicting a ₹100 crore+ box office opening in India, despite being a re-release. Insiders say the film’s massive fanbase, historic marketing recall and IMAX rollout have created festival-like hype across theatres.
Massive format release across languages
The makers of Baahubali: The Epic will release the film in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam. They will screen it in premium formats such as IMAX, 4DX, Dolby Cinema, ICE, and Ultra-Wide Screen (UWS) theatres. The remastered version promises improved VFX, sharper colour grading, and a reworked background score for heightened emotional impact.
Filmmakers are reintroducing the tale of betrayal, legacy, and power from the fictional kingdom of Mahishmati to a new generation of fans and international audiences. Baahubali’s comeback has already started shaking the Telugu film release calendar, with several producers considering postponements to avoid a box office clash with Rajamouli’s epic.
With theatres already nearing full occupancy for the opening weekend, Baahubali is once again proving why it remains India’s most celebrated cinematic franchise.
