Reviews Progress with Ministers and Top Officials

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the government must update schemes based on people’s real needs. He chaired a review meeting with ministers, secretaries, and department heads at the Secretariat. He noted that he keeps complete records of every department’s progress.

Chandrababu asked all officials to review government programs at regular intervals. He stressed that timely evaluation helps improve performance and strengthens public trust. The meeting also covered plans to increase the state’s growth rate and improve implementation across key sectors.

Focus on Agriculture and Water Solutions

The Chief Minister highlighted several reforms launched earlier for drought-hit regions. “We supported groundnut farmers in Anantapur by providing input subsidy for the first time in the country,” he said. To tackle drought conditions in the district, he studied water-management technologies used in Israel.

He recalled that Rayalaseema once struggled even to provide fodder for cattle. The government introduced several measures to improve crop quality and water availability. “We worked to ensure high-quality groundnut yield in Anantapur. Inspired by Anna Hazare and Rajendra Singh, we launched large-scale water conservation efforts,” he said.

These steps improved groundwater levels across Rayalaseema. Chandrababu explained that when groundwater reaches three meters, the government spends far less on water supply. This helps reduce financial stress on the state.

Push for Solar Energy and Industrial Growth

Chandrababu urged departments to use more solar energy to reduce electricity demand. “Power tariffs will not increase this year,” he said. He also highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s rapid industrial expansion. “Our state has the highest number of industrial parks in India,” he noted.

Commitment to Transparent and Efficient Governance

The Chief Minister said his government stands focused on transparency, performance, and public service. He added that continuous monitoring and people-centric improvements will guide Andhra Pradesh’s development roadmap.
