Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urged officials to hold talks with banks and financial institutions to reduce interest rates on government loans. He said several lenders increased interest rates during the previous government, which caused a major burden on public funds.

The CM explained that the NDA government already saved ₹512 crore last year and ₹1,000 crore this year through loan rescheduling. He added that the state can save another ₹7,000 crore if interest rates drop across all loans.

Stronger Coordination Needed

The Chief Minister asked departments to work with better coordination. He said officials must change their approach and use technology auditing to gain public trust. He also stressed that every department should make financial discipline a priority.

Public Health Must Be a Top Focus

Moreover, Naidu directed officials to stay alert on public health. He asked them to take early steps to prevent seasonal and water-borne diseases. Using the Data Lake, officials should share timely information with the public to build awareness.

He said the government is preparing to offer 1,200 services through WhatsApp Governance, which will improve citizen access. Public representatives must also increase satisfaction levels by monitoring service delivery. Additionally, he said the judiciary should use technology to clear pending cases faster.

Utilize Central Funds by December 20

Naidu expressed concern that several departments did not use ₹1,170 crore of central funds. He ordered them to use the amount by December 20 and send utilization certificates to the Centre. He also instructed Ministers to personally oversee all central-funded projects.

The CM said every department will come under audit supervision by March 2026, and Ministers must speed up file clearances.

Immediate Action Needed on Key Issues

Naidu said he will review departmental performance every three months. He asked officials to act quickly on issues related to farmers, crop prices, roads, drinking water, employment, and rising prices of essential goods.

He also told them to prepare an advance plan for drinking water supply for the coming summer.

Resolve Grievances in Real Time

He noted that Revenue, Police, and Municipal Administration departments receive a large number of complaints. Therefore, he asked them to address grievances in real time.

Naidu highlighted the Mustabu programme in Parvathipuram Manyam district, where the collector improved student performance. He said similar innovative practices should be adopted across the state.
