Pawan Kalyan has urged the Union Government to award the Bharat Ratna to Tamil poet and freedom fighter Subramania Bharati. He paid rich tributes to the iconic poet on his birth anniversary on Thursday. Moreover, he shared his message through a heartfelt post on X.
He said Bharati’s literary work and his role in the freedom struggle make him worthy of India’s highest civilian honour. Pawan Kalyan also recalled his childhood in Chennai. In addition, he stated that Bharati’s life had a strong influence on him.

He mentioned three key lessons he learned from the poet. First, Bharati showed fearless devotion to the motherland. Second, he taught deep respect for one’s mother tongue. Third, he proved that mastering several languages can strengthen national unity. Therefore, Pawan Kalyan believes that Bharati truly deserves the Bharat Ratna.
