A grand wedding reception hosted by a Madhya Pradesh MLA has grabbed nationwide attention for its massive scale. Sanchi MLA Prabhu Ram Chaudhary organized the event for his elder son, Parv Chaudhary, and welcomed around 30,000 guests.
The family held the wedding ceremony earlier in Bhopal in a simple manner. However, they planned the reception on a much larger scale. Organizers set up an eight-acre venue in Raisen and created special arrangements for VIP guests.
Several prominent political leaders attended the reception. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, and Minister Govind Singh Rajput were among those present.
To manage the huge crowd, the hosts hired nearly 1,000 chefs. They prepared a wide range of Indian and international dishes. Artists from Rajasthan performed traditional music and entertained the guests throughout the event.
Local residents said Raisen had never seen such a large celebration before. At the same time, some people felt the spending could have funded a small development project.
Meanwhile, a recent wedding in the same state offered a sharp contrast. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s younger son, Dr. Abhimanyu, married Dr. Ishita Patel in Ujjain. The couple chose a simple ceremony.
Yoga guru Baba Ramdev conducted the rituals. The wedding took place without luxury or display. Notably, 21 other couples also married at the same auspicious time. They completed the ceremony without gifts or grand arrangements.
The two events highlighted contrasting approaches to weddings among public figures and sparked discussion across the state.
