The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) continues to attract an overwhelming response for its sacred initiative, “Srivari Aseervadam.” Through this programme, TTD extends the divine blessings of Lord Sri Venkateswara to newly married couples across the country.
Every year, more than one lakh couples receive these blessings after sending their wedding invitations to TTD. As a result, many devotees begin their married life with faith, hope, and spiritual strength.
What Srivari Aseervadam Offers
Under this initiative, TTD sends a sacred package to newlyweds. It includes Akshintalu (sacred rice), kumkum, kankanam (sacred thread), and an auspicious blessing letter. In addition, the package contains photographs of Sri Venkateswara Swamy and Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru.
Moreover, TTD also sends a special book titled “Kalyana Samskruthi.” This book explains the cultural and spiritual significance of marriage.
Importance of Marriage in Indian Tradition
Marriage holds a special place in Indian society. In particular, Grihastha Dharma plays a key role in sustaining social balance. Therefore, receiving divine blessings at the start of married life carries deep spiritual meaning.
Newlyweds often begin their journey with dreams and responsibilities. Hence, the blessings of Srivaru, the presiding deity of Kaliyuga Vaikuntha, offer strength and guidance.
Sacred Rituals and Their Significance
One of the first wedding rituals is Kankanadharana. During this ritual, elders tie a sacred thread on the groom’s right hand and the bride’s left hand. People believe this thread protects the couple from negative forces.
For this reason, TTD sends kumkum and kankanam blessed by Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru. These items symbolize protection, prosperity, and auspiciousness.
Similarly, Talambralu plays a vital role in wedding ceremonies. To bless couples with harmony and prosperity, TTD sends Akshintalu sanctified by Srivaru.
Educating Couples on the Sanctity of Marriage
Along with sacred items, TTD focuses on spiritual education. Therefore, it sends the book “Kalyana Samskruthi” to newly married couples. The book highlights the values of commitment, mutual respect, and righteous living.
Additionally, TTD includes a Vedic blessing letter. It bears the photographs of Sri Venkateswara Swamy and Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru. The letter is issued in the name of the TTD Executive Officer.
Tireless Efforts Behind the Initiative
The Shuddha Prathi Division (Postal Section) at the TTD Administrative Building in Tirupati plays a crucial role. Throughout the year, the staff works continuously to deliver blessings to devotees on time.
As a result, more than one lakh newlywed couples receive Srivari blessings every year without delay.
How Newlyweds Can Receive Srivari Blessings
Couples who wish to receive Srivari Aseervadam need to send their wedding invitation. They must also include their complete postal address.
Once TTD receives the invitation, it ensures that the sacred blessings reach the couple promptly.
