A 22-year-old Indian student faced arrest in the United States after police accused him of threatening family members and attempting to set their house on fire. The incident took place in Frisco, Texas, and prompted swift police action.
Incident Reported by Family Members
Police identified the accused as Manoj Sai Lella, a student at the University of Texas. According to officials, family members contacted law enforcement after noticing aggressive behaviour. They told police that Manoj had been under severe mental stress for several days.
Moreover, the family alleged that he tried to set fire to the house during a confrontation. As tensions escalated, they feared for their safety and immediately sought help.
Police Action and Arrest
After receiving the complaint, police officers arrived at the residence and arrested Manoj without resistance. Authorities acted quickly to prevent any further danger. Officers later confirmed that the situation posed a serious risk to those inside the home.
Charges Filed Against the Accused
Police booked Manoj under a first-degree felony for allegedly attempting to burn an occupied residence. In addition, they charged him with a Class A misdemeanor for threatening family members. These charges carry strict penalties under Texas law.
Court Sets Bond Amount
