CM Clarifies Stand on Telangana Projects
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that Telangana can also use the remaining water from the Polavaram project. He clarified that he never opposed the construction of irrigation projects in Telangana. The Chief Minister made these key remarks during a review meeting with ministers and secretaries at the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat.
Naidu said cooperation between states is essential for effective water management. He questioned objections to utilizing surplus water released from the upper reaches of Polavaram. According to him, sharing resources will benefit both states without causing harm.
Nallamala Sagar to Benefit Rayalaseema and Prakasam
Speaking about the Nallamala Sagar project, Chandrababu Naidu said the project will help provide irrigation water to Rayalaseema and several areas in Prakasam district. He assured that no region or community would suffer due to the project.
He explained that diverting excess water from Polavaram to Nallamala Sagar is a practical and beneficial solution. He added that Telangana would also have the opportunity to use the remaining water, ensuring balanced development.
Governance, Welfare, and Development Accelerated
The Chief Minister said the government restored confidence among the people of Andhra Pradesh. He noted that 2025 delivered positive results, thanks to improved governance and administrative reforms. Naidu highlighted that welfare and development gained momentum through the Super Six schemes.
He urged officials to work with greater commitment in the coming year. He also reviewed various welfare programs and explained how beneficiaries gained from them.
Amaravati, Polavaram, and Infrastructure Growth
Naidu said critics once mocked Amaravati as a graveyard and desert. However, he said the capital city has now emerged as an inspiring development model. He added that farmers are active partners in the state’s growth.
Calling Polavaram a landmark project, Naidu said no South Indian state can compete with Andhra Pradesh once the project is completed. He also announced that Bhogapuram Airport will soon be dedicated to the nation.
Andhra Pradesh Emerges as Investment Hub
The Chief Minister revealed that Andhra Pradesh attracted 25 percent of the foreign investments coming into India. He said the state has become a major investment destination. Naidu also confirmed that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was saved with the support of the central government.
He reiterated that Visakhapatnam Steel is the sentiment of Andhra Pradesh and promised continued efforts to protect public sector assets.
