Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to provide immediate and comprehensive support to families affected by the tragic fire accident in Sarlankapalle village of Kakinada district. The incident occurred during the Sankranti festival and destroyed 38 thatched houses, leaving dozens of families without shelter.

During a review meeting with ministers and senior officials, the Chief Minister said the government must respond quickly and compassionately. He expressed sorrow over the incident and stressed that the administration should stand firmly with the victims during this difficult time.

Immediate Assistance and Housing Support

Home Minister Anita briefed the Chief Minister on the relief measures already in place. She said officials have begun distributing ₹25,000 in cash to each affected family as immediate assistance. Chandrababu Naidu instructed authorities to ensure that this support reaches every eligible family without delay.

In addition, the Chief Minister ordered officials to sanction a permanent house for each family that lost its home in the fire. He also directed them to arrange temporary accommodation, food, and essential supplies until permanent housing becomes available. He emphasized that officials must treat the affected families with dignity and care.

Special Camps and Close Monitoring

Chandrababu Naidu also ordered the organization of special camps in Sarlankapalle village. These camps will help victims reissue Aadhaar cards and other important documents that were destroyed in the fire. He said restoring documents quickly will help families access government welfare schemes and services.

The Chief Minister asked ministers and district officials to personally monitor relief and rehabilitation work. He stressed that coordination between departments is vital to ensure smooth and transparent assistance.

The state government has begun relief operations on a war footing. With continuous monitoring and timely action, the administration aims to restore normalcy in Sarlankapalle at the earliest and provide long-term security to the affected families.
