A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Mittapalli village of Thallada mandal in Khammam district, where a man died by suicide after losing his entire family within a year.
Guttikonda Vinod Kumar (36) ended his life earlier this month, unable to cope with the deaths of his twin sons and his wife. Locals found him hanging at his residence on January 7 and rushed him to a private hospital in Khammam. Despite treatment, he died on Thursday.
The family’s ordeal began on April 28 last year when a cooking gas cylinder exploded at their home. The accident claimed the lives of Vinod Kumar’s twin sons, Varun and Tarun. The sudden loss shattered the family.
His wife, Revathi, struggled to recover from the trauma. Overwhelmed by grief, she died by suicide on January 1 this year. Her death left Vinod Kumar completely devastated and alone.
Unable to bear the emotional pain and isolation, Vinod Kumar took the extreme step just days later. The incident has shocked the village and left residents in deep sorrow.
Following a complaint from family members, Thallada police registered a case and launched an investigation.
