A heartbreaking incident shocked Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyala district on Saturday. A young mother allegedly poisoned her two children before ending her life at her residence in Lalitha Nagar. The tragic episode claimed three lives and left the locality in deep grief.
According to preliminary information, the woman took the extreme step after facing prolonged harassment from her husband and in-laws. Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances behind the deaths.
Family Dispute Led to Tragic Decision
The deceased woman, Mallika (27), married Uday Kiran of Lalitha Nagar seven years ago. The couple had two children—five-year-old Ishanth Sai and seven-month-old Parinitha. Initially, the family life appeared stable. However, disputes reportedly escalated over the past two years.
Mallika’s family alleged that her husband, sister-in-law Geetha, and sister-in-law Prasanna subjected her to constant verbal harassment. As tensions grew, frequent arguments disturbed the household.
Incident Unfolds Overnight
On Friday night, a heated argument broke out between Mallika and her husband. During the confrontation, Uday Kiran allegedly assaulted her. Later, Mallika’s brother Karthik intervened and attempted to resolve the issue before leaving.
However, Mallika remained deeply distressed. On Saturday morning, she locked herself inside a room and did not respond. When the door was finally opened, Mallika was found hanging, while both children lay unconscious nearby.
Doctors declared all three dead after shifting them to the hospital.
Police Investigation Underway
Mallika’s family suspects foul play and demanded a murder case against the husband and his relatives. Meanwhile, Uday Kiran and his family members reportedly went absconding after the incident.
Police registered a case and continue to investigate all angles related to the Nandyala mother and children incident.
