India celebrated its 77th Republic Day with pride and unity across the country. The main celebrations took place at Kartavya Path in New Delhi. The Republic Day parade showcased India’s cultural heritage, economic progress, and growing defence strength before a global audience.
The annual parade highlighted India’s focus on self-reliance in defence and national security. Indigenous weapons, modern military systems, and coordinated force displays reflected the country’s readiness. This year’s celebrations also marked the 150th anniversary of the patriotic song Vande Mataram. Themes linked to national duty and Operation Sindoor received special focus.

Armed Forces Display Strength and Coordination
India displayed its frontline defence systems during the parade. The armed forces showcased the BrahMos and Akash missile systems. The Suryastra rocket launcher and the Arjun main battle tank also drew attention. The newly raised Shaktiban Regiment made its first appearance, adding to the visual impact.
A special tableau on Operation Sindoor became a key attraction. It highlighted the joint operation carried out by the Army, Navy, and Air Force last year. The display featured the national tricolour and a symbolic arrow, showing unity and coordination among the forces.
The Indian Air Force followed with an aerial display. A total of 29 aircraft took part in the flypast. These included 16 fighter jets, four transport aircraft, and nine helicopters. Rafale, Su-30 MKI, MiG-29, and Jaguar aircraft performed precision formations over Kartavya Path.
The parade also featured artillery systems and modern equipment. These included the Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System, Dhanush artillery guns, Divyastra battery units, and selected drone platforms. The display reflected India’s growing focus on modern defence technology.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Republic Day celebrations. He said the parade showed India’s defence strength and technical progress. In a post on X, he said the event reflected India’s preparedness and strong commitment to citizen safety.
The 77th Republic Day celebrations once again highlighted India’s resolve to protect its sovereignty and move forward with confidence and unity.
