Hyderabad will host the All India Police Football Championship in March, with top teams from across the country set to participate. DGP Shivadhar Reddy reviewed the preparations and instructed officials to organise the tournament in a manner that reflects the prestige of the state.
The championship will take place from March 23 to April 5. Matches will be held at various venues in Hyderabad over a period of 12 days. The tournament will feature 125 matches, making it one of the largest police sporting events in the country.
A total of 53 teams will compete in the championship. More than 2,000 players and officials are expected to arrive in Hyderabad for the event. Teams from 28 states, eight Union Territories, and the central armed police forces will take part in the tournament.
During the review meeting, DGP Shivadhar Reddy emphasised discipline, security, and smooth coordination. He asked officials to ensure proper accommodation, transport, and medical facilities for all participants. He also stressed the need for effective crowd management and safety arrangements at match venues.
Officials discussed the tournament management plan and logistics during the meeting. The police department aims to conduct the championship smoothly while showcasing Hyderabad’s capability to host national-level sporting events.
