The Andhra Pradesh government has transferred Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal and handed over additional charge to senior IAS officer Muddaada Ravichandra in Tirupati. The decision came into effect immediately, with official orders issued by the Chief Secretary. Singhal has been directed to report to the General Administration Department (GAD) without delay, marking a sudden administrative shift in one of the state’s most important temple bodies.
Government Orders and Immediate Changes
Following the transfer, the government assigned Muddaada Ravichandra as the new Executive Officer with additional responsibilities. Until he formally assumes charge, TTD Joint Executive Officer Venkayya Choudary will continue as the in-charge EO to ensure uninterrupted administration. Officials stated that the transition aims to maintain stability in temple management during the leadership change.
Muddaada Ravichandra currently serves as Principal Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Office. His appointment signals the government’s intent to closely monitor TTD affairs and strengthen administrative oversight at the temple trust.
SIT Findings Trigger Action
The transfer follows serious observations made by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) regarding Anil Kumar Singhal’s tenure during the previous YSR Congress Party government. The SIT flagged irregular relaxations granted in ghee procurement norms during his time as TTD Executive Officer. These relaxations reportedly raised concerns over transparency and compliance in procurement procedures.
The SIT recommended immediate action against Singhal and submitted its findings to the state government. Acting on these recommendations, the government moved swiftly and issued formal transfer orders.
Administrative Continuity at TTD
Officials clarified that the temporary arrangement with Venkayya Choudary as in-charge EO will remain only until Muddaada Ravichandra officially takes charge. Senior TTD officials continue to oversee daily operations, pilgrim services, and ongoing projects without disruption.
