A road accident caused panic near Tantikonda village in Rajavommangi mandal of Polavaram district on Monday morning. Dense fog reduced visibility on the road and led to a lorry overturning after it hit a buffalo. Although the incident looked serious, the driver and cleaner escaped with only minor injuries.
Fog Reduces Visibility, Causes Collision
The lorry was travelling from Rajamahendravaram toward Koyyuru with a load of sand. However, heavy fog covered the road near the outskirts of Tantikonda village. Due to poor visibility, the driver failed to notice a buffalo crossing the road. As a result, the vehicle hit the animal and lost control.
Lorry Overturns, Crew Escapes Safely
After the collision, the lorry overturned on the roadside. Fortunately, the driver and cleaner managed to come out of the vehicle safely. They sustained only minor injuries and did not require major medical treatment. Locals rushed to the spot and informed the authorities.
Traffic Briefly Disrupted
Meanwhile, the overturned lorry caused a brief traffic disruption on the route. Later, officials took steps to clear the vehicle and restore normal movement. Police advised drivers to remain cautious, especially during early morning hours when fog levels remain high.
Authorities once again urged motorists to reduce speed and follow safety measures to avoid such accidents in fog-prone areas.
