Police have filed a PT warrant against former minister and senior YSR Congress Party leader Ambati Rambabu in connection with a protest case registered earlier. The move relates to an agitation held against the privatisation of medical colleges under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Case Linked to Protest Incident
During the protest, Ambati Rambabu and others allegedly pushed through police barricades. At the time, police registered a case at the Pattabhipuram police station. After reviewing the matter, officials have now approached the court and submitted a PT warrant in the same case.
The court has directed authorities to produce Ambati Rambabu before it on or before the 11th of this month. Police sources indicate that he may be presented before the court as early as tomorrow.
Court to Hear Bail and Custody Pleas
Meanwhile, the legal proceedings are set to continue. A mobile court is scheduled to deliver its verdict tomorrow on both the bail petition and the custody petition filed by Ambati Rambabu. The outcome of these hearings is expected to decide the next course of action in the case.
The development has drawn political attention, as Ambati Rambabu remains a prominent voice within the YSRCP. More details on the court proceedings and police action are awaited.
