Political tensions in Andhra Pradesh escalated as YSR Congress senior leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu was transferred from Rajahmundry Central Jail to Guntur by police. Rambabu, facing allegations in multiple cases, was moved under tight security on a PT warrant. The transfer took place amid strict police arrangements to ensure safety and order.
The main reason for the transfer relates to a case registered last year at the Pattabhipuram Police Station in Guntur. On November 12, during a YSR Congress protest, Rambabu allegedly pushed police barricades and obstructed duty personnel. This old case is now under investigation, prompting authorities to bring him to Guntur for legal proceedings.
Upon arrival in Guntur, Ambati Rambabu is scheduled to appear at the local court. Police filed a petition requesting that he remain in their custody, while his legal team submitted a bail application. Arguments on both petitions are expected to take place in court, with the judge’s decision determining Rambabu’s next steps.
The transfer has reignited political debates in the state, highlighting the tense atmosphere surrounding legal actions against prominent leaders. Authorities continue to maintain tight security as the proceedings unfold.
