A private bus met with a serious accident early Monday morning near Pedakannalu ST Colony, close to Srikalahasti in Tirupati district. The bus was reportedly travelling at high speed when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn onto the roadside. Passengers inside the bus panicked as the incident unfolded suddenly.
Around 15 passengers sustained injuries in the accident. Officials said that the condition of a few injured passengers remains critical. The impact shattered the bus windows, trapping several people inside the vehicle.
Residents rushed to the spot immediately after the accident. They broke open the damaged windows and helped rescue passengers who were stuck inside. Their quick response helped prevent further injuries before emergency services arrived.
Police reached the scene soon after receiving information and coordinated rescue efforts. They shifted the injured passengers to the Srikalahasti Area Hospital for emergency treatment. Doctors are currently providing medical care, and authorities continue to monitor the condition of those injured.
