The Telangana municipal elections entered their final campaign phase yesterday evening. Today, election staff will head to polling stations to prepare for tomorrow’s voting. Polling will run from 7 AM to 5 PM.
Voters in 116 municipalities and 7 corporations will choose from 12,993 candidates contesting across 2,996 wards. Authorities set up 123 election material distribution centres and 137 strong rooms to secure polling equipment.
Security is tight, with 25,000 police officers deployed across the state to maintain order. Officials have set up 8,195 polling stations to ensure a smooth voting process.
Vote counting will take place on February 13. Authorities urge voters to reach their polling stations on time.
Observers expect high turnout and strong competition across the municipalities and corporations. Tomorrow’s elections will play a crucial role in shaping local governance in Telangana.
