A rare display of devotion has drawn attention in East Godavari district ahead of Maha Shivaratri. A young man crafted a unique Shiva Lingam using only ₹10 coins, turning faith into a striking visual tribute. The effort has impressed locals and devotees alike.
Two Months of Dedication and Hard Work
Chilaka Sai Teja, a resident of Kovvurupadu village in Gopalapuram mandal, worked continuously for nearly two months to complete the Shiva Lingam. He carefully collected more than 12,500 coins, valued at around ₹1.25 lakh. With patience and precision, he shaped the coins into a well-designed Shiva Lingam that reflects deep devotion.
Installation Planned for Maha Shivaratri
Sai Teja said he will install the “Dhana Shiva Lingam” at the Pattiseema Veerabhadra Swamy Temple on the day of Maha Shivaratri, considering it the most sacred occasion to offer his devotion to Lord Shiva. He said the project was not about money but about expressing gratitude and faith toward Lord Shiva.
Devotion Draws Public Attention
Meanwhile, villagers praised Sai Teja’s commitment and spiritual intent. Many said the effort stands as an example of modern devotion rooted in tradition. As the festival approaches, the coin-made Shiva Lingam has become a point of discussion across the region.
