SAP Chairman Ravi Naidu said that both victory and defeat teach valuable lessons in life. He made these remarks while attending the closing ceremony of the five-day All India Inter-University Netball Women’s Tournament organised by Krishna University. As the chief guest, he congratulated the participating teams and praised their sporting spirit.
Government Focus on Women Athletes
Speaking at the event, Ravi Naidu stated that the coalition government is committed to encouraging women athletes. He emphasised that sports play a key role in building confidence and discipline among youth. Therefore, the government has been giving special attention to women’s participation in competitive events.
Moreover, he highlighted that the administration aims to create equal opportunities for female sportspersons across the state. He added that strong support systems help athletes perform better at national and international levels.
Strengthening Sports from the Grassroots Level
Ravi Naidu also said the government is working to strengthen the sports system in Andhra Pradesh. According to him, several programs are underway to identify talent at the village level. These initiatives aim to nurture young players and provide them with proper training facilities.
In addition, he noted that the government is offering various incentives to help athletes grow in their careers. Scholarships, coaching support, and improved infrastructure form part of this broader plan. As a result, more young players are now stepping forward to pursue sports professionally.
Five-Day Tournament Concludes Successfully
The five-day netball tournament concluded on a high note with teams from universities across the country participating. The event showcased teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit among women players. Ravi Naidu congratulated the winners and encouraged all participants to continue striving for excellence.
