Mangalagiri: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan met employees of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department at a “Maatamanti” interaction program held at CK Convention Centre. The staff explained their issues directly to him and sought quick solutions.
Employees thanked Pawan Kalyan for upgrading Panchayat Secretaries to Panchayat Development Officers. They said the new DDO system improved their workflow and brought clarity to administrative processes. Many employees also shared their happiness about receiving long-awaited promotions.
The staff submitted several requests during the meeting. Their main appeal was to work in their own mandals, which they believe will improve efficiency and reduce travel challenges. They also asked the Deputy CM to separate Village Secretariat employees from the Panchayat Department, saying the merged setup creates unnecessary confusion and workload.
Employees raised concerns about the plan to conduct departmental exams only within the Panchayat Raj Department. They felt that this structure limits opportunities and creates inequality. They also highlighted problems with promotions under the zonal system, which often lead to delays and disputes.
Senior officials Shashibhushan Kumar, Krishna Teja, and Revu Mutyalaraju joined the session. They noted the issues presented by employees.
Pawan Kalyan assured the staff that he would examine each concern and discuss solutions with the department heads. He said that the government aims to strengthen local governance and support the employees who run essential services in rural areas.
