To ease the heavy festive rush during Christmas and New Year, the South Central Railway (SCR), Vijayawada Division, has announced special train services between Charlapalli and Kakinada Town. These services aim to handle the surge in passenger traffic as thousands plan their holiday travel across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Train Schedule Announced
According to SCR officials, two special trains will operate on selected dates:
Charlapalli → Kakinada Town (Train No. 07196)
- Operating Days: Wednesday, Tuesday
- Departure: 19:30 hrs
- Arrival: 09:00 hrs (next day)
- Journey Dates: December 24 & December 30, 2025
Kakinada Town → Charlapalli (Train No. 07195)
- Operating Days: Sunday, Wednesday
- Departure: 19:50 hrs
- Arrival: 08:30 hrs (next day)
- Journey Dates: December 28 & December 31, 2025
Stops Along the Route
These festive special trains will halt at key stations including:
Nalgonda, Miryalaguda, Piduguralla, Sattenapalle, Guntur, Vijayawada, Gudivada, Kaikalur, Akividu, Bhimavaram Town, Tanuku, Rajahmundry, and Samalkot in both directions.
Coach Composition
SCR officials confirmed that the trains will run with:
- First AC cum II AC coach
- AC III Tier
- Sleeper class
- General second-class coaches
High Demand Expected
With Sankranti special trains already fully booked and waitlists running into the hundreds, the newly announced Christmas-New Year services are expected to receive a strong response from travelers. Officials advise passengers to book early to secure seats.
